Hi, I’m Pascale Gibon, welcome to episode 236 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for tuning in.
I called this episode: In Memory of Bob Proctor – We do not need to slow down we need to calm down.
Yes, you have guessed it, I pay another tribute to one of my mentors, Bob Proctor.
He paid such a pivotal role in my life that I am sure you do not mind me continuing to celebrate his teachings.
You probably have a similar experience with a mentor, a friend or colleague or a family member.
Since The Proctor Gallagher Institute will celebrate Bob Proctor’s life and legacy today, I want to mark this moment in this episode.
The following quote: "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." is appropriate regarding my encounter with Bob Proctor. I must say that I met Bob Proctor, as a mentor, at the right time in my life. I met him when I wanted to live a purposeful, abundant and fulfilling life.
I am so thankful to Bob for all his work and teachings. We do not realise the impact someone has had on our lives until they are gone. I want to share my appreciation again in this episode.
In episode 235, I shared one of my favourite quotes from Bob: “Most people are extras in their own movie.”
There is another quote by Bob Proctor I want to talk about today. “We do not need to slow down, we need to calm down.”
This quote: “We do not need to slow down, we need to calm down,” reminds me of a similar statement from James Allen that I often quote: “Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.”
In a fast-paced world, especially in big cities, like London, we need to dedicate time to calm down to find peace, become wiser, increase our awareness, expand our minds and open up to new possibilities.
In a buzzing and noisy world, it is essential to take some time for contemplation. Contemplation means reconnecting with your source of supply, higher power or life force, quietening the mind and shutting yourself off from external disturbances. Bob Proctor released many guided meditation videos on YouTube you can follow to calm your mind.
Releasing, finding peace of mind and peace in your mind by reconnecting to nature are ways you can calm down. Committing to some relaxation time and inviting serenity is how you can calm down. Essentially the idea is to empty the mind, stop multi-tasking and be one with your source of supply. Letting go of doingness and embracing fully beingness, your spiritual essence.
I know that some of you, my listeners, struggle with this. Some of you might have difficulty meditating. If this is you, you need to make an effort to unwind, let go of multi-tasking and bring peace to your consciousness.
Calming the mind gives you clarity and invites inner peace. It is a powerful method to destress, ground yourself and realign with your higher power. And it takes practice.
Daily disturbances through our interactions with others, overthinking, pressure at work, particular events in our lives and the way we react to those events etc., create a vibrational frequency that can be positive or negative.
A positive vibrational frequency is when you feel happy, content and fulfilled.
A negative vibrational frequency is when you feel discontent, unhappy and dissatisfied. It is a frequency that disrupts your peace of mind.
Due to too much busyness, it is essential to find mind body spirit balance by returning to a sense of calmness, feeling at peace and undisturbed.
