Today, we're taking on a major challenge: Facing Your Fear. We will push your relationship with the fear of success even further, building on the insights you've gained.
You understand, by now, that fear can serve you positively when associated with progress, growth, expansion, and resolution. Today, we're taking a step further, the collaborative relationship between you and your fear of success.
Let's consider three controllable ways you can make healthy changes in your life:
1. Keep doing what works
2. Stop doing what doesn't work
3. Try something new and see if it works
We're focusing on that third option today: try something new and see if it works. I will now guide you through a breakthrough exercise, so find a quiet space where you can fully engage.
Close your eyes lightly.
Now, resolve to step out of your comfort zone and overcome the fear of success for good.
Imagine sitting in your comfort zone, and your dream, goal, or vision for your life lies beyond it. A barrier stands between you and your aspirations. It's the 'fear barrier.'
Now, I want you to visualize breaking through that fear barrier. As you do:
* What do you see beyond it?
* What feelings or sensations arise?
* How does your body feel once you've crossed the barrier?
* What thoughts surface as you move to the other side?
* What new reality have you created by breaking through?
Take your time with this visualization. When you're ready, you can open your eyes.
Now that you've visualized breaking through your fear barrier, I want to address some common obstacles you might face in this process. It's crucial to be prepared for these challenges in advance to overcome them effectively.
To overcome these obstacles, practise self-compassion, seek support from trusted friends or mentors, and regularly revisit your visualization of what lies beyond the fear barrier. Remember, obstacles are not stop signs; they're part of the journey.
In today's session, you've learned three crucial points:
